Celebrating 25 Years of Boyer Planning

Northlands Hostel

Acting on behalf of United Welsh Housing Association and working in conjunction with the Salvation Army, Boyer Planning won planning permission, on appeal, for the redevelopment on land at North Road, Cardiff, allowing a new homeless hostel and 27 affordable homes to be built.

The new hostel will replace the existing Northlands facility, providing accommodation that meets the Welsh Assembly’s prescribed housing standards and including four workshop enterprise and training units.

The affordable housing scheme, to be built on residual land, will comprise 15 houses and 12 flats, again meeting the identified need for affordable housing in Cardiff. Boyer Planning successfully prosecuted the appeal, working alongside architects Stryde Treglown Davies and highway advisors FMW Consultancy.
