David
Lander was responsible for the establishment of Boyer Planning
in July 1985. Initially a planning division in a multi-disciplinary
practice, the company became an independent consultancy in 1990.
David was appointed Managing Director and continues to hold that
post. He is based at the company's Windlesham office.
He is a Chartered Town Planner and a Member of the Royal Town
Planning Institute (elected 1976). He has been engaged in town
planning since 1969, spending the first 17 years of his career
in local government, initially with the Greater London Council
and then with Mole Valley District Council in Surrey.
David has a wide range of professional experience and has built
up an extensive client base, predominantly serving the development
industry. He also acts for local authorities, charitable bodies
and a number of smaller clients. He works principally across southern
England, the Midlands and South Wales.
David is currently leading multi-disciplinary design teams on
a number of prestigious schemes for both immediate and longer-term
development. These include urban redevelopment projects on the
former RAF Staff College in Bracknell, the Royal Alexandra Children's
Hospital in Brighton and the Cwrt y Gollen army camp in the Brecon
Beacons National Park; major urban extensions at Horley, Andover,
Harlow and Yate; a new settlement at Cambridge. Other recent projects
include a Sports Centre for Tonbridge School and various schemes
for the Catholic Diocese of Arundel & Brighton.
David frequently appears as an expert witness at Section 78 Appeal
Inquiries and at RSS and LDF Examinations.
