Initially a planning division in a multi-disciplinary practice, the company became an independent consultancy in 1990. David was appointed Managing Director and continues to hold that post. He is based at the company's Windlesham office.

He is a Chartered Town Planner and a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (elected 1976). He has been engaged in town planning since 1969, spending the first 17 years of his career in local government, initially with the Greater London Council and then with Mole Valley District Council in Surrey.
