Internships 

Boyer facilitates a summer internship programme to enable university students to obtain valuable work experience before completing their academic training. If you are in your penultimate year of an undergraduate degree, or your final year of study with a one year postgraduate degree place confirmed, our internship programme offers an opportunity to build your skills and develop your experience.

Working alongside planners, development economics specialists, masterplanners and urban designers, this is an opportunity to acquire first-hand experience and understanding of what we really do. The programme provides an opportunity to build networks and understand relationships with clients and planning authorities. Our internship programme runs for eight weeks from the end of June to the end of August. We will consider all interns for graduate assessment day following completion of their University course.

Programme Details

Boyer offers internships in most of our offices and services. You will work alongside talented professionals and contribute to the success of our projects. In addition to work experience, we offer CPD activities where you have an opportunity to network with peers and colleagues.

Job Responsibilities

During your time with Boyer, you will work in partnership with our staff on important projects. The programme starts with an induction where you will learn about our culture, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of being a member of Boyer. Responsibilities vary depending on the position and location of your internship, but generally will include:

  •          Planning and evidence based research
  •          Site appraisals
  •          Supporting the project team preparing planning applications, including involvement in project meetings
  •          Assisting in preparing for public consultation events

  •          Enrolment as a full time undergraduate or post-graduate student in a RTPI accredited degree
  •          Excellent academic record
  •          Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team
