Committee success in Hammersmith and Fulham

Boyer has successfully secured a resolution to grant planning permission from the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham’s Planning Applications Committee for our client CLS Holdings plc. The proposals involve the demolition of the existing low-rise office building and redevelopment with a residential led-mixed use building of 110 high quality homes, whilst re-providing, office space at ground floor level. The building rises from four to ten storeys in height to create a transition from lower adjacent buildings to its taller neighbours.

This is a significant planning permission for a site identified within Hammersmith and Fulham’s South Fulham Riverside Supplementary Planning Document which guides the regeneration of this ex-industrial riverside area.

The Committee, in resolving to approve the scheme, commended the design of the building and concluded that the scheme would be a positive addition to the area, retaining employment floorspace whilst offering increased housing. As a result, the proposal meets the aims and objectives set out within the South Fulham Riverside Supplementary Planning Document.

The proposals will deliver significant public benefits through the provision of new homes, including 35% affordable homes in accordance with the Mayor of London’s recent guidance, the creation of an impressive, high quality building, flexible, modern commercial floorspace ideal for small and medium enterprises and an improved, active frontage; all of which was welcomed by Members.

Members acknowledged the benefits of the proposed development and the wider redevelopment aspirations of the area. They concluded that despite local objection permission should be granted for the development. Boyer continues to work on projects throughout the London of Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and look forward to a continued successful working relationship with CLS Holdings.
