Planning success at Arborfield Garrison

Boyer was engaged by Crest Nicholson South and successfully secured Reserved Matters approval for 220 new homes at the Arborfield Garrison Strategic Development Location (SDL).

The proposals were landscape led and designed using Garden Village principles. In addition to a mix of 1 to 5 bedroom apartments and houses the site will deliver a generous provision of open space and a LEAP. Furthermore the application incorporated the first area of allotments in the SDL and the first section of the Linear Park.

The proposals were subject to extensive consultation with local residents, the Local Planning Authority and four Parish Councils prior to the submission of the planning application. Boyer co-ordinated the preparation and submission of the application and led detailed design, highways and drainage negotiations due to numerous site constraints including ancient woodland, protected species, an underground pipeline and overhead power lines.

Officers ultimately concluded that the application will deliver a high quality development in accordance with the Council’s spatial strategy and Wokingham’s planning committee resolved to approve the application unanimously.
