Heatherstone Grange, Derritt Lane, Bransgore

Boyer Design were appointed as Architects in 2014 by Bellway Homes Wessex for Phase One and Two of Heatherstone Grange – a new development set within the village of Bransgore in the New Forest district of Hampshire.

The site, although originally developed as a residential camp for RAF personnel after the Second World War, was located in the Green Belt.

The story of Heatherstone Grange centred around creating a focal building – a Queen Anne style ‘Grand House’ with a woodland backdrop and an informal tree lined approach through the Village Green. This was complemented with a Gatehouse at the entrance. The rest of the buildings were designed in an Arts and crafts architectural style and radiated from the Grand House as part of the overall masterplan vision.

We worked with Bellway Homes and the officers of New Forest District Council to deliver a sensitive and well-conceived design on this site on both phases, that sits seamlessly with the local village character.

The completed scheme includes 102 new homes consisting of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes and bungalows, including 50 % affordable housing, and is set in a picturesque landscape setting along with SANG provision.
