West Quay Marina, Poole

Boyer has helped achieve full planning permission for a £100m waterfront residential and commercial scheme in Poole, Dorset, on behalf of West Quay Developments (Poole) Ltd.

The proposal will regenerate the site of a former timber yard and industrial units next to Twin Sails Bridge. The application was approved in March 2017 and will create 291 high-quality apartments at West Quay Marina along with 9,000 sq ft of commercial space, including restaurants and shops.

The buildings range in size from five to 10-storeys, while the apartments will be a mix of one, two and three bedroom properties. The sustainable development incorporates commercial space on the ground and first floors of the development with a central square providing high quality amenity space.

Mark Russell, managing director of West Quay Developments (Poole) Ltd believes the scheme has significant potential to transform the wider waterfront area and will bring considerable economic benefits.

He said: “The application was strongly led by the developer team, who engaged significantly with local stakeholders and the Borough of Poole. The Council officers and executives are to be commended for supporting this important regeneration project, which will set a new 'high bar' for development on the waterfront corridor adjacent to Twin Sails Bridge”.
