Brightwell Lakes
Client: Taylor Wimpey East Anglia
LPA: East Suffolk
Brightwell Lakes is a strategic scale residential site with outline planning permission for up to 2,000 dwellings and an allocation in the East Suffolk (Suffolk Coastal) Local Plan. Alongside the residential dwellings, the site is required to provide strategic scale areas of natural green space and landscaping, local centre, community facilities in the form of education and medical facilities, a Heritage Park and recreational facilities through formal playing pitches and areas of open space with a focus on ecology in a location close to the Deben Estuary.
Boyer (Planning Team and Design Team) were engaged by Taylor Wimpey East Anglia to support them through the initial stages of the project which included engagement through a Planning Performance Agreement and then preparation of information to support the first reserved matters applications for the site.
Boyer coordinated the project team and maintained engagement with the local authority, as well as Suffolk County Council in respect of highways and drainage matters. Public engagement through the newly established Brightwell Lakes Community Forum was also undertaken and provided direct opportunities for the local community to influence proposals.
Following the submission of the first Reserved Matters applications, Boyer have been able to secure a positive resolution at Planning Committee for Authority to Approve the first phases of development. Boyer look forward to supporting Taylor Wimpey East Anglia on future Reserved Matters applications.
