Boyer have been working on this site for many years on behalf of St Francis Group, promoting the site through the Local Plan and Core Strategy, achieving an allocation, followed by the submission of a hybrid application, approved in 2016, for the regeneration of the existing industrial estate and the development of up to 320 dwellings, which included the need for Environmental Impact Assessment, co-ordinated by Boyer.

Boyer were subsequently involved in obtaining planning permission in 2017 for a light train maintenance depot, and a Reserved Matters application for 288 new dwellings, associated open space and infrastructure on behalf of Taylor Wimpey East Anglia in 2019.

The residential application represented a crucial step forward in the life of a long-standing strategic allocation within the development plan. The approval realised the plan-led delivery of needed homes in the District, but also secured the funding required to expedite the delivery of the Brantham Regeneration Area.
