Boyer appoints Jacqueline Jackson as Director in its Midlands office

Jacqueline joined in September and will lead the planning service from the Midlands office, taking responsibility for the team and for growing and diversifying the business across the region.

She brings 24 years of experience to the role, 19 of them in local government and five in private consultancy. She joins from Marron, where she was a Partner, having previously been Planning Director.

Before moving into consultancy, Jacqueline was Group Leader of Development Management at Charnwood Borough Council, where she had earlier been Team Leader for Development Management and, before that, a Principal Planner. She also spent time at Rushcliffe Borough Council as a Senior Planner.

Her work covers complex planning proposals and advice on major development, including sustainable urban extensions, logistics, science and enterprise parks and residential, commercial and heritage-sensitive schemes. She has significant experience of planning appeals and enforcement matters, and acts as an expert witness.

At Boyer, Jacqueline will work predominantly with housebuilders, land promoters and developers in the Midlands, building on existing client relationships and mentoring and coaching the team.

Jacqueline is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) and a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. She holds a master’s degree in town planning from Birmingham City University, a master’s degree in management and a level 7 diploma in senior leadership and management, both from De Montfort University, and a degree in geography from Loughborough University.

David Hutchinson, Land & Planning Director and Head of Midlands Office at Boyer, says: “Jacqueline is well known and respected in the Midlands, and understands how decisions are made on both sides of the planning system. Clients benefit from that on every project, whether it’s a straightforward application or a scheme that needs careful handling.

“Her arrival is part of our plan for the Midlands. We’ve been steadily building the team here, and Jacqueline gives us the leadership to take on more work and support the people coming through behind her.”

Jacqueline Jackson, Director at Boyer, adds: “Boyer has an ambitious plan for the Midlands and a team I am looking forward to working with. The variety of work here appealed to me, as did the chance to shape how the office grows.

“Good planning comes down to preparation and honest advice, and I want clients to feel they know where they stand at every stage. Bringing people on is just as important to me, so I will be spending time with the team as well as on the projects.”
