Delivering high-quality community facilities is integral to Boyer’s mission of creating spaces where people can live, learn and thrive. Our teams work in close partnerships with local authorities, developers and communities to advance projects that meet local needs and offer substantial long-term contributions.

This month, we’re spotlight Jude Aggett, who has recently secured and progressed several successful community-focused schemes across the South East and beyond. From new educational sport provisions to places of worship and leisure facilities, Jude’s projects highlight the significance of collaboration, clarity and thoughtful design in delivering community facilities examples that benefit both present and future communities.

RAF Daws Hill, Buckinghamshire

Enhancing Education and Community Use Through Strategic Collaboration

In October 2024, Boyer submitted a Change of Use application to convert a designated kickabout area (Use Class F2) into a formal school sports pitch (Use Class F1) at Daws Hill, High Wycombe. Planning permission was successfully secured in June 2025.

Initially masterplanned in 2014 for informal recreation, the site underwent review through proactive engagement between Taylor Wimpey West London and Buckinghamshire Council, leading to a more beneficial use for the local community.

The result is a high-quality sports pitch for Abbey View Primary School, with community access outside school hours, reflecting Boyer’s commitment to evolving community facilities to meet the changing needs of the local population and supporting community support services.

Church Road, Earley

Enhancing a Place of Worship Through Sensitive Architectural Design

Following the 2023 approval for the Change of Use from a C3 dwelling to a Place of Worship, Boyer South has been securing full planning permission for external architectural alterations to the property.

Early pre-application engagement with Wokingham Borough Council in January 2025 helped the team understand the authority’s views on several proposed additions, including:

  • A Dharma Wheel and two Deer statues above the main entrance
  • Three Ganjira (Gajur) features centrally positioned on the roof
  • 108 copper prayer wheels integrated into the external elevations
  • A Buddha statue on a raised platform at the site’s front.

Feedback confirmed alignment with both national and local planning policy, enabling Boyer to confidently submit a full application in July 2025. Permission was granted in September 2025, allowing the project to enrich the community’s cultural and spiritual space through exemplary community facilities.

East Anton Sports Facility (ISF), Andover

Delivering State of the Art Sports Infrastructure for a Growing Community

At the East Anton development in Andover, Boyer has been facilitating the delivery of a long-planned Indoor Sports Facility, secured through the original S106 Agreement attached to the 2008 Outline planning permission.

Following pre-application discussions with the Test Valley Borough Council in January 2025 and a successful Public Exhibition in July 2025, Boyer is preparing to submit a full planning application in November 2025 for Taylor Wimpey West London.

The proposed facility will include:

  • A two-court Main Hall
  • A Gym / Studio
  • A welcoming Foyer and Seating Area
  • 40 on-site car parking spaces
  • Spaces designed for both organised sport and broader community use, demonstrating the value of neighbourhood planning in community project funding.

This ISF will offer essential recreational infrastructure for current and future residents, supporting a healthy, active lifestyle within the community and serving as a model for community facilities examples.

Championing Community Facilities at Boyer

Across these projects Jude Aggett and the Boyer team have demonstrated the value of early engagement, clear communication and collaborative efforts with local authorities and stakeholders. Each scheme reflects our broader commitment to creating inclusive, high-quality environments that meet local needs and provide tangible community benefits through community project funding.
