Historic Environment (Wales) Bill becomes Act of Senedd Cymru after receiving Royal Assent

The Historic Environment (Wales) Bill has become an Act (Historic Environment (Wales) Act 2023) after receiving Royal Assent from His Majesty, King Charles III which took place today (14th June 2023).

The new Act brings together the principal legislation for the effective protection and management of the historic environment in one document and is explicitly for Wales.

The Act will not come into force until next year after supporting secondary legislation has been made and guidance and administrative documents have been revised and updated.
